Landis+Gyr’s MDMS Testing Confirms Scalability and Performance for Meter Data Applications Running with Oracle Exadata Database Machine or Oracle SuperCluster
MDMS Achieves Oracle Exadata Optimized and SuperCluster Optimized Status
Zug, Switzerland – Sept. 15, 2015 – Landis+Gyr, a leading global provider of energy management solutions, announced that it has earned Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle SuperCluster Optimized status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) demonstrating that version 3.3 of its meter data management system (MDMS) has been tested and tuned on Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle SuperCluster to deliver speed, scalability and reliability to customers. Landis+Gyr is a Gold member of Oracle PartnerNetwork.
The testing certifies that utility customers running Landis+Gyr’s MDMS on Oracle Exadata Database Machine or Oracle SuperCluster will experience improved performance consuming, validating and processing high volumes of metering data.
“Our MDMS plays a critical role in the success of many large-scale smart grid and advanced metering projects. Achieving Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle SuperCluster Optimized status further confirms that we are able to meet high performance and scalability requirements by achieving sustained processing of more than 427 million meter reads per hour, or 1.4x faster than previous tests[1],” said Dave Connaker, General Manager of Landis+Gyr’s MDMS Solutions.
Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle SuperCluster Optimized are part of the Oracle Exastack Optimized program which allows partners, such as Landis+Gyr, to leverage OPN enablement resources and dedicated lab environments to help develop, test and tune their applications on Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle SuperCluster, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine, Oracle Database Appliance and Oracle Big Data Appliance engineered systems.
“Oracle Exastack Optimized recognizes partners who have optimized their solutions on a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure in order to help them accelerate innovation, unlock new features and functionality, and deliver superior value to users,” said David Hicks, Vice President, Worldwide ISV, OEM and Java Business Development, Oracle. “By achieving Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle SuperCluster Optimized status, Landis+Gyr has demonstrated its MDMS is tested and tuned to work with Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle SuperCluster to help deliver optimum performance, scalability, and reliability to their customers.”
Landis+Gyr was recently shortlisted, based on merit, as one of the "25 Most Powerful Oracle Solution Providers." Nominated organizations are helping their customers to better adapt to Oracle solutions and going a further step forward by developing products and services to make this move easier.
